Registering for Stony Brook University College Credit

Marine Ecology can be taken for college credit as Stony Brook University's MAR 101-E: Long Island Sound - Science and Use. This is a three credit course and costs $250. In order to take this course for college credit, you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.40 or better. See Mr. Strieb to see if you qualify. If for any reason you wish to withdrawal from the Stony Brook course, you must follow all of Stony Brook University's dates and procedures. Smithtown High School and Stony Brook University cannot guarantee that the college in which you enroll will accept these credits. Please check with any potential colleges prior to enrollment. Your grade for this course will become part of your permanent SUNY academic record.

Registration is on line, however, you will need to print a Program Approval Form, complete it and submit it to Mr. Strieb no later than October 7th in order for your application to be complete. Despite what it says on Stony Brook's website, my deadline for you to complete your on line application is October 6, 2011 and the dealine for you to submit your Program Approval Form to Mr. Strieb is October 7, 2011.
